  • The Wharton 4000 range of digital clocks has established a proven reputation for use in time and reliability critical applications in command and control rooms, laboratories, production, process and medical facilities, offices and reception areas, school exam rooms and halls (JCQ approved) and all types of transportation systems.
  • We have developed this range of digital clocks to provide an accurate and ultra-reliable time display over an extended operating life with many previous models still in service more than 15 years after first supply.

All Wharton digital clocks have many user-selected modes of operation:

  • Ultra-reliable, 12 or 24-hour time display with four or six-digits and choice of colours. Select alternating time and date or time, date and temperature (requires optional 406 temperature sensor).
  • E, N and NE versions can be used in stand-alone applications using their internal time references.
  • E and NE versions have rear connections to enable time synchronisation using one of an extensive selection of time code protocols from a Wharton 5000 series master clock or suitable third party time reference.
  • You can synchronise E and NE individual digital clocks to a satellite-based atomic time reference via a control message from a Wharton 488HS series GPS or GLONASS time signal receiver.
  • N and NE versions can be controlled and synchronised to time via their 10/100Base-t Ethernet NTP connection to your existing network with accurate time information provided by a local or internet time server for simple, low-cost installation and control.

Stopwatch operation

  • Wharton 4000 series calendar clocks have time digits freely switchable between the display of time-of-day and the display of multifunction stopwatch or countdown time.
  • You can control the stopwatch and countdown timer functions by the IR handset supplied, by an optional dedicated switch panel or by user-supplied voltage free contacts.
  • The following stopwatch and countdown timer functions are user-programmable:
    • Stopwatch display modes
    • Stopwatch display resolution
    • Stopwatch count direction
    • Stop/start and hold switch actions
    • Countdown start count
    • Using external, voltage-free, switch contacts - E and NE versions only
    • Network stopwatch mode - network versions only
